Primary Health Center
We hope to build a primary health care center for the Village of Senehun Ngola and its surrounding neighbors in Jimmy Bagobo Chiefdom., Interestingly, the name of the village Senehun Ngola means a place of health in the forest in the Mende language.
The cost of the center is far beyond the means of the Board members alone. This will be a major fundraising drive for us to raise $200,000 over the next 3 to 5 years to construct, staff and equip the primary health clinic. The focus will be on maternal and child health, but all primary care needs of the villagers will be addressed including first aid and vaccinations.
Expanded Educational Complex
Once the primary health care center is built, we will turn our attention once again to meeting the educational need of children, youth, and adults in the village by building an expanded school complex. We already have an architectural design for the complex which will require US $200,000 to build, equip and staff. This is a long range goal for us. In addition to school classes for children, the educational complex will be used to teach marketable skills to youth and adults and to offer classes in micro-enterprise and other small business marketing based on skills, arts, crafts and products derived from the traditional culture of the Mende, as well as emerging opportunities.

Our Project Partners On The Ground In Sierra Leone
We have a formal agreement with a well-respected organization based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The name of the organization is Calvary and Liberation Ministry, C19 Bayconfeilds, Freetown, Sierra Leone under the leadership of Rev. Peter Alfred. With the assistance of Mr. Edward Benya at USAID in Freetown we identified and engage this organization to be our partners on the ground with responsibility for guidance and oversight of project implementation. Formed in 2000, this is a Human Rights Christian Charity that represents the interests, concerns and wishes of mentally and physically disabled persons, elder care and underprivileged children and women in need. Two of their areas of interest which we share are access to quality education through construction of schools and health care. It is registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Childrens Affairs and the Ministry of Local and Rural Development in Sierra Leone. I will add that this organization is not being paid any salary to perform these onsite services for us. During the school repair project we provided small amounts for food and travel (motor bike rental) when the staff was doing onsite work and supervision. |
