Financial Accountability

Our practice has been to transfer funds to a special account created just for our projects at the Sierra Leone Commercial bank as a “foreign account”.  We transferred funds as we were able to accumulate them and wired them over time to keep the project on task.  We opened a bank account here in Tampa, Florida at the Wachovia Bank from which funds accumulated on this side were wired to Sierra Leone.  By agreement with the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, two signatures are required to access the wired funds on the Sierra Leone side.  On the US side, we have secured the services of MSJ Accounting Services in Florida to perform annual audits using financial records from the sending and receiving banks, as well as accounting reports of expenditures from Calvary Ministries, our implementation partners on the ground.
